หลักการและเหตุผล

        Six Sigma คือ กระบวนการในการพัฒนาเชิงสถิติในการควบคุมคุณภาพการปฏิบัติการผลิต ซึ่งอาศัยข้อมูลที่ถูกต้องเพื่อลดความสูญเสียและความผิดพลาดที่อาจเกิดขึ้นในกระบวนการทำงาน โดยเน้นที่การพัฒนาระยะเวลาการผลิตต่อหน่วย (Cycle time) ให้ลดลง รวมถึงลดของเสียที่เกิดขึ้นในกระบวนการผลิตในเวลาเดียวกันในระดับ 3.4 หน่วยต่อ 1,000,000 หน่วยการผลิตในทุกกระบวนการ หรือกล่าวได้ว่าเป็นระบบที่ช่วยให้การปฏิบัติการผลิตเร็วขึ้นและความผิดพลาดลดลง การที่องค์กรจะพัฒนากระบวนการด้านคุณภาพของสินค้าให้ดีขึ้นได้นั้นจำเป็นต้องอาศัยผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้าน Six Sigma และทีมงานที่ดี เราจึงจำเป็นต้องหาแนวทางหรือวิถีทางเพื่อไปสู่ Six Sigma ที่เป็นเลิศให้ได้

       ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้าน Six Sigma แบ่งออกเป็นหลายระดับ ตั้งแต่ White, Yellow, Green จนถึง Black Belt ซึ่งผู้เชี่ยวชาญในแต่ละระดับนั้นมีคุณสมบัติแตกต่างกันทั้งในเรื่ององค์ความรู้เฉพาะด้านและประสบการณ์ที่ยาวนาน ที่สำคัญคือผู้เชี่ยวชาญเหล่านั้นควรต้องผ่านการอบรมและทดสอบจากสถาบันที่เป็นที่ยอมรับและสามารถออกเอกสารรับรองคุณวุฒิอย่างเป็นทางการได้ ดังนั้นองค์กรจึงควรเตรียมความพร้อมให้พนักงานที่จะเข้าใจในหลักการและเรียนรู้เพื่อสามารถผ่านการทดสอบทั้งภาคทฤษฎีและปฏิบัติได้อย่างเป็นเลิศ

วัตถุประสงค์

1. เพื่อให้ความรู้ สร้างทักษะ ความเข้าใจในปรัชญา ความหมาย เป้าหมาย วัตถุประสงค์ และเครื่องมือของต่าง ๆ ของ Six Sigma

2. เพื่อสร้างให้ผู้บริหารมีความเข้าใจ และมีความสามารถในการบรรลุผลการดำเนินงานในการดำเนินงานแบบ Six Sigma

3. เพื่อสามารถวางแผน สรรค์สร้าง ปรับปรุง พัฒนาโครงการต่าง ๆ โดยใช้แนวทางแบบ Six Sigma สำหรับการดำเนินงาน ทั้งการผลิตและการบริการได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ

4. เพื่อสร้างความเข้าใจในบทบาทของผู้นำการเปลี่ยนแปลงเพื่อให้องค์กรเข้าสู่ Six Sigma

5. เพื่อลดต้นทุน ลดระยะเวลาการดำเนินงาน ลดความสูญเปล่า ลดข้อบกพร่องและความสูญเสีย เพิ่มคุณค่าให้กับการดำเนินงานของผู้บริหารและผู้ปฏิบัติงานได้อย่างต่อเนื่อง
